These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website at decodeddad.com, its newsletters, and the "Decoded Dad" applications registered with third-party social media platforms (together, the "Services"), operated by Decoded Dad ("Decoded Dad," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. The Services

Decoded Dad publishes articles, newsletters, and social media content about technology, cybersecurity, and family life. The Decoded Dad social media applications are used by Decoded Dad and by individuals Decoded Dad has expressly authorized to publish, schedule, and manage content on social media accounts that they own or administer.

2. Informational content only

Content on the Services is provided for general educational and informational purposes. It is not professional, legal, or security consulting advice for your specific situation, and following it does not guarantee the security of any device, account, or network. You are responsible for decisions you make based on the content.

3. Accounts and subscriptions

You may subscribe to receive newsletters by providing an email address. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for activity under your account. You may unsubscribe at any time.

4. Use of the Social Applications

Use of the Decoded Dad social media applications is limited to authorized users. Each authorized user must own or have permission to manage every account they connect, is responsible for the content they publish through the applications, and must comply with the terms and policies of each platform they use. In particular:

  • The applications use YouTube API Services. By connecting a YouTube channel, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and acknowledge the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Use with Facebook, Instagram, and Threads is subject to the Meta Terms of Service and the platform terms of each product.
  • Use with TikTok, LinkedIn, and other platforms is subject to those platforms' respective terms of service.

We may suspend or revoke access to the applications at any time.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Services for any unlawful purpose; post or transmit content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, infringing, or that contains malware; attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services or related systems; interfere with or disrupt the Services; or scrape or harvest information from the Services by automated means without permission.

6. Comments and user content

If you submit comments or other content, you retain ownership of it and grant Decoded Dad a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute it in connection with the Services. We may remove content at our discretion.

7. Intellectual property

The Services and their content, including text, graphics, logos, and the Decoded Dad name, are owned by Decoded Dad or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may share links to our content and quote brief excerpts with attribution; other reproduction requires our permission.

The Services may link to or integrate with third-party websites and services. We are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices, and your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DECODED DAD WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR REVENUE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100).

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time by posting a revised version on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Services will be brought in the state or federal courts located in South Carolina.
